A 62-year-old female was referred from the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department of Dr. Jai Dev Memorial Rotary Ambala Hospital (DJMRH) with a complaint of difficulty swallowing and significant weight loss. The patient underwent an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (UGIE), which showed cancer in the esophagus tube. Looking at that, Dr. Hardeep Singh, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist, decided to perform oesophageal stenting to resolve dysphagia. In that procedure, an oesophageal self-expandable metallic stent (SEMS) was placed. The patient was discharged subsequently, is now able to tolerate semisolid meals, and has gained 3 kilograms of weight.

The patient is currently undergoing chemotherapy for the treatment of cancer in the chemotherapy department of DJMRH. Dr. Vaneet Anand, an oncologist and hematologist, and Dr. Priyanshu Chaudhary, a medical oncologist, along with other team members, are treating the patient.

We, the team at DJMRH, hope for the betterment of the patient!
